Eva Núñez Méndez received her Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Salamanca, Spain. She has taught linguistics, literature and translation courses at various universities in Europe and USA, including Middlebury College (Vermont), the University of Houston (Texas), Hope College (Michigan), the National University of Ireland (Galway), and the University of Portsmouth (England). At present, Dr. Núñez is an Associate Professor of Spanish at Portland State University in Oregon, USA. Her fields of research focus primarily on theoretical linguistics (phonetics, syntax and history of Spanish language) and on applied linguistics (text analysis, teaching methodology, and translation).

Eva Núñez Méndez se doctoró de la Universidad de Salamanca. Ha enseñado lingüística, literatura española y cursos de traducción en varias universidades tanto en Europa como en los EE.UU: en la Universidad de Middlebury (Vermont), en la Universidad de Houston (Tejas), en la Universidad de Hope (Michigan), en la Universidad Nacional de Irlanda (Galway) y en la Universidad de Portsmouth (Reino Unido). En la actualidad es profesora titular en la Universidad Estatal de Portland, en Oregón, USA. Su especialidad investigadora es en primer lugar lingüística teórica (fonética, sintaxis, e historia de la lengua); en segundo lugar lingüística aplicada (análisis de textos, metodología de la enseñanza y traducción).
